Privacy policy

What we collect

• Account details: your email address, display name and avatar, and the sign-in provider you use.
• What you post: listings, media, comments, and your votes, saved apps and follows.
• Purchases: what you bought and when. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them.
• Vote integrity: when you vote, a salted one-way hash of your IP address, so we can spot many accounts voting from one network. We never store the IP address itself.
• Listing statistics: when someone views a listing or clicks one of its links, we record the time, the referring website (domain only), the country our CDN reports, and a hash of the IP address and browser that changes every day. That lets us ignore repeat views without being able to follow anyone across days. Makers see only totals.
• Server logs: our hosting providers keep standard request logs for security and debugging for a short time.

Cookies

We set one cookie, pz_session, when you sign in, to keep you signed in. It's essential, so there's no consent banner. Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout pages to prevent fraud.

How we use it

• To run your account and show your listings, votes and comments.
• To send emails about your listings, launches and purchases. These are part of the service; we don't send marketing email without asking.
• To review listings, prevent abuse and keep rankings fair.
• To show makers how their listings are doing, in aggregate.

Who we share it with

Your display name, avatar, listings and comments are public. Otherwise we share data only with the providers that run the service for us, under contracts that limit what they can do with it: hosting, database and file storage, our CDN, email delivery, and Stripe for payments. Some of them process data outside your country. We'll disclose data if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Account data stays while your account is open. When you delete your account we remove your personal details; listings you've published can be deleted too, and comments are kept anonymized so threads still make sense. We keep purchase records as long as tax law requires.

Your choices

You can edit your profile and listings any time. To get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account, email hello@platformzone.com. Depending on where you live you may have further rights, including complaining to your data protection authority.

Children

Platformzone isn't for anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell account holders before it takes effect.
